Dell Studios was founded in 2015 by Rhys Dell (lead producer and creative director of the company) as a title card for his LEGO animations.

In late 2020, Rhys met Bash Dinsmore (now a long-time collaborator and friend) whilst creating a Doctor Who fan audio series, which would be the beginning of his love for audio drama. Rhys would go on to produce numerous Doctor Who fan audio dramas, including a range surrounding Marvel Comics character Death's Head.

In 2021, following the COVID-19 lockdowns and heavily inspired by BBC series "Staged", Dell Studios produced their first live action web series, Writer's Room, which was incredibly well received by audiences.

In 2022, Rhys began studying Film and Television at Aberystwyth University and began to hone filmmaking skills, as well as meeting other creatives and collaborators. It's during this time that his passion for audio drama began to flourish, following undertaking a module surrounding how to make it, and being a part of the celebrations for 100 Years of Audio Drama. It was preparing for this event that led to the foundation of Tidal Waves, the Aberystwyth University student radio station, which would push Dell Studios to move away from fan-audios and towards more original programming with dramas such as acclaimed supernormal thriller The Bleak Walk Home (2024) and extraterrestrial road trip comedy Space Travel for Beginners (2025).

As of summer 2024, Dell Studios was committed to producing a wealth of original content primarily in the audio medium.

Rhys Dell is a writer, director, producer, editor and voice actor based in Hertfordshire and London, England. He typically works within the medium of audio, creating original drama and adaptations of existing properties and stories, and is often inspired by his passion for science fiction and fantasy, and a lifelong love of Doctor Who (1963 - ).

I'm truly in love with Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds (1978) and committed to the belief that it's the best work of fiction ever produced for audio.

Personal Bio

Sebastian Dinsmore, known professionally as Bash Dinsmore, is a British actor and writer. His acting history includes a wealth of stage work, including musical theater, as well as on screen and audio performances. Bash has worked on his own short films in a number of production roles, as well as showrunning multiple audio series and numerous live action films and shows, such as his acclaimed web series Journey (2022 - 2025), with great success.
